Tool · UV planning
Sun session planning checklist: decide the stop before you start.
The risky part of a sunny day is not only the UV peak. It is distraction. You arrive, talk, swim, work, or scroll, and the timer you meant to set never happens. This checklist puts the decision before the session.
Boundary: This asset is educational and app-positioning content. It is not medical, legal, safety-critical, navigation, workplace-compliance, or relationship-therapy advice.
Before you go outside
- Check hourly UV, not just the daily high.
- Identify the local peak window and whether you can move the plan earlier or later.
- Look for reflection: water, pale sand, snow, concrete, or glass.
- Read the sunscreen label and follow it; do not ask an app to replace it.
- Choose a hard stop time before the session starts.
During the session
- Start the timer when exposure starts, not after you remember.
- Set reminder points for shade, reapplication according to product instructions, and leaving.
- Treat cloud breaks as changing conditions, not as a reason to ignore UV.
- Stop when the timer says stop. The app should not reward staying longer.
Afterward
Log what made the plan hard: distraction, swimming, sweat, no shade, social pressure, or an unexpectedly high UV curve. Use that to plan a more conservative next session.
Boundary
This is educational planning. It is not dermatology advice, does not diagnose burns or skin risk, and does not recommend tanning as safe.
