Common questions

I bought Drambook on one iPhone, how do I get it on another?
Open Drambook on the new device, tap Restore Purchases in the paywall. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID. The unlock is tied to the Apple ID, not the device.
Where is my collection stored?
Locally, on your iPhone. iOS encrypts the data at rest. Drambook never uploads, syncs, or transmits your collection anywhere, there is no Drambook server.
What happens if I lose my phone or buy a new one?
If you've enabled iCloud Backup, your Drambook data is included in your encrypted iPhone backup. Restore the new device from that backup and your collection comes back. Drambook itself doesn't manage backups, Apple does.
Can I export my collection?
Yes. Settings → Data → Export produces CSV and PDF exports of your bottles, pours, and tasting notes. Both formats are part of the paid unlock. The data is yours; you can take it with you.
Why is the bottle's editorial description still in English when the rest of the app is in my language?
The catalog editorial notes are kept in English by design. The whisky community operates in English at the connoisseur level, Whisky Advocate, Whiskybase, distillery press releases, auction catalogs. Translating these by machine risks factual errors that matter in this category. The rest of the app is fully localized in fifteen languages.
I can't find a bottle in the catalog.
Tap Build a custom bottle on the Catalog tab to add it by hand. The catalog grows over time; if there's a bottle you'd like to see added, email us with the distillery name and bottling.
Is Drambook on Android?
No. Drambook is iOS-only and is built natively in SwiftUI. There are no current plans for Android.
Is there a way to share my collection publicly?
No. Drambook is deliberately private. There is no profile, no feed, no social layer. If you want to share, export to CSV or PDF and send it however you choose.
How does Drambook handle alcohol-related restrictions?
Drambook is a journal for your existing collection, it does not sell alcohol, facilitate purchases, or recommend specific bottles to buy. The app is rated for adults of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction. Please drink responsibly.
Will I be charged again next year?
No. Drambook is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no auto-renewal. You will never be billed again.
Found a bug or have a feature request?
Email [email protected]. Include your iOS version and a brief description of what happened. Screenshots help.
