Terms of Service

Effective 29 April 2026 · Last updated 29 April 2026

Short version: Drambook is a one-time-purchase iOS app. You buy it through Apple, you use it on your iPhone, your data stays on your device. We don't run servers, we don't have your data, and we make no promises beyond "the app works as described in the App Store." The longer version below exists because Apple and standard practice ask us to write it down.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms form an agreement between you ("you") and the independent developer publishing the Drambook app ("we", "us"). The app's bundle identifier is com.drambook.app. Contact: [email protected].

By downloading, installing, or using Drambook, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't install the app.

2. The service

Drambook is an iOS application that lets you keep a private journal of your whisky and bourbon collection, bottles, tasting notes, pours, photos, and statistics, entirely on your iPhone. There is no Drambook server, no account, and no cloud sync. Everything you create stays on your device.

3. Your license to use Drambook

When you purchase Drambook through the App Store, Apple grants you the right to use the app under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). The unlock is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and tied to your Apple ID, you can install the app on any device signed in to that Apple ID.

Drambook is licensed, not sold. You don't own the app itself; you own the data you create inside it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Purchases and refunds

Drambook is free to start and offers an optional lifetime unlock. You pay the price shown in the App Store at the time of purchase. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charge. The unlock is permanent and tied to your Apple ID, you can restore it on any iPhone you sign in to via the in-app Restore Purchases option.

All purchases are processed by Apple. We don't see your payment details, your Apple ID email, or your transaction information.

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select the Drambook purchase. Apple's standard refund window applies.

6. Your data

Everything you put into Drambook, your bottles, tasting notes, pours, photos, prices, stays on your iPhone. Drambook may check for signed catalog updates, but we do not collect, transmit, or store your personal collection data. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

You are responsible for backing up your iPhone (iCloud Backup or local backup via Mac/PC) if you want your Drambook data to survive a lost or replaced device. We have no copy of it and cannot recover it for you.

7. The bundled catalog and editorial notes

Drambook ships with a whiskey catalog of bottles including distillery, region, mash bill, proof, age, and short editorial notes. The app may download signed catalog updates over time. The catalog is provided for reference and journaling, the editorial notes reflect our research and opinion, not the official position of any distillery, brand owner, or rights holder. Distillery names, bottling names, and other trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Catalog data is provided "as is", we make a serious effort to keep it accurate, but spirits data can change (releases, ABV adjustments, bottling changes) and catalog entries may be corrected or removed in future updates. Don't rely on the catalog for purchase, valuation, or trading decisions; it's a reference layer for your private journal.

8. Secondary-market and pricing snapshots

Where Drambook shows estimated current values for bottles, those numbers are snapshots from the time of the catalog refresh, not live market prices. They are intended as a rough reference for your own collection-tracking. They are not investment advice, appraisals, or offers to buy or sell. Real secondary-market values change daily and may differ significantly.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Drambook is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your use of or inability to use the app; (b) any errors or omissions in the catalog or editorial notes; (c) loss of your collection data due to device failure, deletion, or absence of backup. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for Drambook on the App Store.

11. Alcohol and responsibility

Drambook is for adults of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction. The app is a journal for your existing collection, it does not sell alcohol, facilitate alcohol purchases, or recommend specific bottles to buy. References to alcoholic products in the catalog are descriptive, not promotional. Please drink responsibly and in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example, if the app's features change, or if a law or App Store policy requires it. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll surface it in the App Store version notes for the release that introduces it. Your continued use of the app after the change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Termination

You can stop using Drambook at any time by deleting the app from your iPhone. We may discontinue the app or specific features in a future version, in which case any unlocked features will continue to work for the version you already have installed; we make no commitment to keep updating the app indefinitely. Apple's refund policy governs any refund claims.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes arising out of these terms will be resolved in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your country of residence.

15. Apple-specific terms

You acknowledge that these terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and has the right to enforce them against you.
