Why the context field matters
Context keeps notes honest. A neck pour, a blind sample, and a bottle revisited after six months should not pretend to be the same experience.
How to use the rating field
Use a private rating that means something to you. For example: 1 means avoid, 3 means fine, 5 means keep around. You do not need to imitate public review scales.
Flavor tags should stay selective
Pick only the tags you would search later. Oak, caramel, smoke, citrus, cherry, nut, rye spice, grain, proof heat, and herbal are useful only if you use them consistently.
