PostReady Dual Recorder Camera, FAQ
Straight answers to the questions people actually ask about PostReady Dual Recorder Camera, including the ones where the answer is "no."
Does it record the front and back cameras at the same time?
No. PostReady records from one lens at a time. You can switch between the front and back camera, but it does not record both simultaneously, and there is no picture-in-picture or reaction mode. If front+back/multicam is what you need, PostReady is the wrong tool, see dual-aspect vs dual-camera.
Then what does "dual" mean?
Dual aspect ratio. From one take on one lens, PostReady saves two cropped files: a portrait 9:16 and a landscape 16:9. The point is to publish the same shot to a vertical feed and a widescreen destination without reshooting or re-cropping.
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. PostReady is fully on-device: no account, no sign-in, no cloud upload, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. Camera and microphone are used only for recording; Photos access is add-only, meaning it can save the videos you keep but cannot read your library; the app does not connect to any server. More on the privacy page.
What's free vs Pro?
Free saves clips up to 1 minute each at 1080p30 dual output with audio, no watermark, no account. Pro removes the 1-minute cap and adds 4K, 60 fps, and HEVC. That's the accurate scope, Pro does not add manual exposure, Apple Log, or stabilization, because PostReady doesn't ship those.
Does the crop guide show exactly what the saved file will contain?
No, and I won't claim it does. The live portrait and landscape overlays are framing guides, not a pixel-exact preview of the final files. They show where each crop sits so you can compose for both; leave a little margin around the edges rather than treating the guide line as a hard boundary.
What about audio and file format?
You can toggle audio on or off, and choose MOV or MP4 output. Completed recordings save to your Photos library, and a recent-recordings history is kept on the device so you can re-export or share again.
What if saving to Photos fails?
Your recording isn't lost. If a Photos save fails, PostReady keeps the local file on the device so you can retry, rather than silently dropping it.
What devices does it run on?
iPhone only, iOS 17 or later, recording in portrait orientation. 4K/60fps/HEVC availability depends on your iPhone model and Pro. There's no iPad-specific or Android version.
Does it edit, trim, or add captions?
No. PostReady captures and saves files. It does not trim, edit, add captions or effects, include a teleprompter, or post to platforms. Those still happen in your usual tools.
What are the subscription terms?
Pro is offered as Monthly, Yearly (with optional 7-day free trial for new subscribers), or Lifetime; pricing is shown in the app and set by Apple in local currency; subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; cancel any time in iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. See Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
